Should be the best game of the tournament so far this one.

I've said that about 4 times now, and each time it has been a complete bore fest.

Has the potential to be absolutely crackerjack in an excellent group. With Brazil looking a sound bet to win it and North Korea looking an even safer bet to prop it up, this could take on the look of a play-off game to reach the last 16.

The Ivory Coast has a prodigiously talented squad with the Toure brothers, Zokora, Kalou and Dindane all ready to play with the possibility of Drogba having his part to play as well.

Portugal look a decent side as well with no lack of talent, but had a poor qualifying campaign and look short on goals when Ronaldo isn't at his best, as has often been the case for his country. The lack of a single competitive goal by their talismanic winger since Euro 2008 must therefore be a worry for the Portuguese.

My feeling is that the Ivorians will sneak it 2-1 with goals from Zokora and Didane with Portugal's consolation coming from Simao.

The plus side for Portugal is that they follow this game up with North Korea and leave Brazil till last, who may have already qualified by then. So a defeat in this game would be damaging but not necessarily fatal.

Agree with all posters thus far. This could be where the tournament takes off. Let's hope so, as it's motionless on the runway at the moment.

Come on the Ivory Coast!! Not sure where my massive love for them has come from but really hoping they have a great tournament. Vital to get off to a good start

Can't stand Portugal. Hope Ivory Coast win - if not, at the very least a draw.

Biggest game of the tournament so far.

Winner of this one you'd expect to qualify from 'the group of death' with Brazil.

Should be an end to end entertaining game.

Although with Sven in charge, maybe the Ivorians won't be as adventurous like in the last world cup.

Judging from the lip reading one thing the English have taught the modern footballer is how to say fook offtongue.png

This will be the 6th game out of 13 to be 0-0 at half time. All the others were 1-0 at half time apart from England (1-1) and Germany (2-0).

Just 20 goals in 12.5 games.

Can't remember a more boring start to a world cup. It's been worse than watching Leicester so far.

Unfortunately this has turned into another shit game. Pretty much nothing is happening.

Becoming hard to justify watching 6 hours of football a day which apart from the odd moment here and there are an absolute borefest.

Ban the vuvulezas and bring back a ball the teams are used to play with, otherwise Germany the only nation used to playing with it are going to win the WC. :frusty:
